Best Foot Forward

Season after season, Jacket Required continues to enrich its offering – not just of men’s apparel and accessories, but also of the finest footwear available in the premium market.

This season is no exception, as a number of firm favourites return to The Old Truman Brewery for the seventh edition – uniting to welcome a selection of new labels to our family of brands, as they make their Jacket Required debut on 30 & 31 July 2014.

While gentlemen the world over discerningly never judge a book by its cover, as long as the fashion elite continue to judge a man by his shoes, Jacket Required perpetuates its pledge, fulfilling the first fruits of footwear for spring/summer 2015.

Sperry Top-Sider

Sperry Top-Sider

Both a brand and a way of life, Sperry Top-Sider is for people drawn to the surf, sun and soul of the ocean – living the good life in any weather and every season. An icon of Americana, footwear embodies what is best about life by the sea – inspiring a relaxed and enduring style with the mission to connect generations to the optimism, freedom and soul of the ocean; and the heritage, authenticity and optimistic personality of the brand.

For undisputed performance and enduring style – Sperry Top-Sider has proved itself as an American high-performance footwear favourite since its conception in 1935. From the world’s very first boat shoe, to today’s contemporary styles, the brand remain true to its heritage, yet sets sail towards something new for spring/summer 2015. Continuing to push forward, fearlessly things are shaken up this season to create a world more adventurous, more colourful, more exciting and more fun.

Clarks Originals

1950. One year after its creation, the Clarks Desert Boot went on sale. Designed in 1949 by Nathan Clark, it was a world’s first – dress casual footwear. Modelled on a shoe made in the bazaars of Cairo – the original Clarks Originals, pure and simple, became an icon.

Now, more than six decades later, the success story continues to unfold – for spring/summer 2015, the past, the present and the future shape an exciting time for the brand. Celebrating 65 years of the Desert Boot and anniversary of working with tannery Charles F. Stead, classic Clarks Originals remain, with limited and special edition versions introduced, including a Made in England model and other directional styles inspired by the essence of Clarks Originals. Exciting new developments are also afoot, as Clarks Sportswear and Clarks Originals collaborate, crossing over to fuse styles that combine modern craft and function.

Barleycorn

Made in Italy since 1991, Barleycorn stands out from the very beginning – mixing a sporty attitude with a clean, English inspired design to forge a strong identity – contemporary, functional and perhaps verging slightly on the peculiar, the brand creates iconic styles to tell a story destined to last in time.

The collection experiments with a sophisticated, stylish summer palette – from monochrome or neutral sand and camel, to citron-like cocktail colours and blue hues. Juxtaposing tradition with innovation, Derby and Brogue models melt classical English expectations, as contemporary hi-tech air bags are inserted into classic styles – cushioning footwear for high performance in both functionality and flair. Heritage, transformation, identity, practicality, comfort, design, colour, quality of materials and attention to detail place the brand on an international pedestal, with spring/summer 2015 setting a new exciting chapter in Barleycorn’s story.

Pointer

Year on year, Pointer acknowledges its inspirations and influences – the grand, the modest and the humble; renowned or obscure, no matter how great or how small. For spring/summer 2015, the brand finds specific seasonal inspiration from Hungarian-born American industrial designer, Eva Zeiel. Having declared herself as a "maker of useful things", Pointer fulfils this vision, tuning into Zeisel’s impish spirit to play with abstract patterns, textiles, models and make-ups.

For footwear as renowned for meticulous attention to detail, fit, shape and colour as it is for willingness to experiment, each season Pointer strives to make every collection a celebration of all the values the brand holds so dear – this offering proves to be no exception.

Sanders & Sanders

For over 141 years, Sanders & Sanders has produced its Goodyear Welted footwear in Rushden, Northamptonshire. Today, the brand remains in the same factory on Spencer Road as it has for the past century, continuing to set an example throughout the world as a benchmark for crafting the very best in English elegance, exporting to over thirty countries across five continents. Proud to manufacture all footwear in England, with Managing Director Henry Sanders at the helm, Sanders & Sanders remains dedicated to following its Made in Britain mantra.

This season, new crepe soled chukka boots and Chelsea boots are introduced into its extensive in-stock collection, while red brick micro soled Chukka Boots and Gibsons continue to be the backbone of its spring/summer 2015 collection – all offering a classic style, with a Sanders twist.

R.M.Williams

Like many things that come out of Australia – the R.M.Williams story which started in 1932, is a unique one. Deliberately designed to be unpretentious, R.M.Williams is a name synonymous with honest quality; globally renowned for producing life-long options, worn from the feet up.

At just 13 years of age, Reginald Murray Williams’ love of the land saw him leave home to learn from the great university of Australia – the bush. It was here he developed his craft of boot and saddle making, tanning leather and settlement building. Determined to create footwear that could endure the hard conditions of the outback, R.M's reputation for high-calibre craftsmanship and attention to detail grew, to now give a piece of Australian bush culture to passionate followers of superior product the world over. The boots continue to be handmade in an Adelaide factory, the town where the brand first began – forever fixed in its original quest to provide quality to Australian heroes, with boots that are unashamedly built for the bush.
