Alluring Autumn

A new year is upon us. And, indeed, a new season. Having weathered the warm, wet winter, the door closes on a successful 2015 and welcomes January, bringing about a time of new opportunity, possibility and fresh focus as we step forward into the allure of autumn/winter 2016.

Time stands still for no man and, as the season shifts, our family of menswear brands across apparel, footwear, accessories and lifestyle product prepare to join together in London next month.

Along with welcoming returning collections and established labels, the 10th edition of our premium menswear trade show will introduce further new names to the market. Today’s selection highlights just a few of those – home-grown, Scandinavian and State-side at Jacket Required on 3 & 4 February 2016. See the full list of brands joining us so far on the Jacket Required website.

Pike Brothers



Known as an expert in producing authentic outdoor clothing and workwear of the 20th century, Pike Brothers creates superior utility garments authentically, in true style, without losing sight of functionality. Founded by George and Joseph Pike in 1930, the small but exclusive tailoring shop in the Portobello Road, Notting Hill, specialised not just in custom-made menswear but, also – with the growing number of American soldiers coming to Britain during the Second World War – in uniforms for the US Armed Forces.

With carefully selected materials and a great attention to detail, Pike Brothers produces garments that are made by hand using traditional craftsmanship. Gymphlex



With over 100 years of illustrious manufacturing expertise – clothing sportsmen from school through to international sporting careers – Gymphlex presents a faithfully re-created collection of sportswear from its archives for the modern man.

Remaining committed to UK manufacture throughout its history, the brand maintains its synonymous, high-quality garments. Working closely with factory staff to fulfil specialist orders and small runs, nothing is left to chance – cementing the label's values and in turn creating product that has garnered legendary reputation across the world.

Having manufactured sportswear for leading labels including Barbour, Burberry and Margaret Howell, Gymphlex now has its own spotlight. Encompassing everything learned since it began in 1906, 2011 saw the launch of its own range of UK-made luxury menswear, ONE NINE ZERO SIX, and now, in 2016, Gymphlex Originals launches to the trade, taking inspiration from over a century of archives to create an everyday sportswear collection of quality.


Hestra



Tried and tested since 1936, Hestra has been serving the world with stylish and functional luxurious goods for over 80 years. Priding itself as Scandinavia's only active glove-cutter, the family-run brand uses traditional 17th-century techniques to create a carefully crafted glove of considered choice.

Founded by Martin Magnusson to combat the Swedish sub-zero temperatures, and originally intended for local lumberjacks, it wasn't long before supporters of the Scandinavian outdoor lifestyle sought out some of the same to dress their hands. Now run by third generation Magnussons, developing gloves in their ancestors' hometown of Hestra, design, durability and performance are key to the label's stand-out success. With over 400 styles in up to 30 colours, in materials including deer skin and wool, Hestra is the brand of choice for both sport and fashion – perfect protection, whatever winter throws at you.


Wrenchmonkees A.C



Copenhagen, 1998 – a group of good friends and motorcycle enthusiasts founded a garage community building one-off custom motorcycles for riders who sought something out of the ordinary. In 2008, they became known to the world as the Wrenchmonkees. Then, in 2012, Wrenchmonkees launched its own clothing label, Wrenchmonkees Motorcycle & Apparel Co, as the team needed decent workwear for both in the garage and on the streets – simple yet functional, just like its bikes.

When wrenching in the garage, the guys explore the basic expression of life on a motorbike. Not necessarily focusing on extreme performance or aerodynamics but, instead, on building motorcycles with individual styling and dynamic driving experiences. It is the core essence of this philosophy that is echoed in the Wrenchmonkees A.C clothing label. What you buy is not simply a piece of clothing, it’s engineered to be trusted.


Howlin’ by Morrison



Belgian knitwear brand Howlin’ continues to strive toward timeless, playful product made with care with its autumn/winter 2016 collection. Based in Antwerp since 1981, while Morrison's more modern label launched in 2009, it keeps manufacture traditional – with its production in Scotland – while finding fantasy in shape selection and preferring patterns to step forward with the latest looks, with a particular personality.

Specialising in presenting modern knitwear made the old-fashioned way, the brand may utilise traditional techniques for the cold season, but its bygone agenda never falters.
