In line with Jacket Required’s focus on sustainability within the fashion industry, this season international brand G-Star RAW will be holding an exciting talk titled:
‘G-Star RAW For The Planet: Our Journey Towards Positive Impact’.

We’ll be hearing from Sofie Schop, who has over 12 years’ experience in sustainability in the apparel industry and currently manages the Global Sustainability Team at G-Star RAW.

Sofie will be sharing insights into how the brand’s Sustainability Team works towards positive impact on the environment and the people involved in G-Star’s production processes. The team set and implement a sustainability agenda, engage and connect internal and external partners and communities, and drive transformation through innovation, transparency and collaboration.

G-Star RAW’s 30 years of premium denim innovation

For 30 years, G-Star RAW has pushed the boundaries of denim design, pioneering change and championing sustainability.
The brand’s collections are a showcase of how the team is working to future-proof the denim industry by investing in sustainable innovations that close the loop of denim design and lead to a circular economy.

Some of these innovations include:

-        Our Most Sustainable Jeans Ever – made from Cradle to Cradle Gold Certified denim, these jeans were developed by analysing each part of the denim design process and exploring how to reduce the environmental impact at every step. This jean marks a milestone in sustainable denim manufacturing for the brand but also for the industry.
-        Recycrom™ T-Shirts – a summer collection of organic cotton t-shirts dyed with Recycrom™ colours that are derived from textile waste.
-        EarthColours – created in collaboration with colour specialists Archroma, EarthColours are high performing dyes derived from agricultural waste instead of petrol. Used across a number of styles, this sustainable dyeing process is combined with using eco-friendly fibres for the collection.
